Audience: Developers

Training prerequisites: Knowledge of AL programming is required. Good knowledge of LS Central is also necessary. LS Central for retail Base Certification is recommended. Good basic knowledge of Business Central, and some general knowledge of software development.

Course objective

This course is intended to give participants an understanding of how to develop LS Central in AL code.

During the course, the trainer will cover:

• Basic coding guidelines for LS Central in Visual Studio Code
• Different object types and how they are used
• How to subscribe to an event in standard code to change the functionality
• How to set up and develop web requests and how to test the web service
• Developing modifications for the POS
• Use of Events in order to make your code easier to upgrade and maintain
• Creation of POS external commands
• POS receipt printing changes

Participants will complete various exercises on these related topics.

Preparation requirements

All participants must have the LS Central Virtual Machine (VM) installed before the course. It is possible to download it from the LS Retail Portal by clicking on the link provided. If you cannot access the VM site, please contact academy@lsretail.com.

Please make sure you have your current/updated developer license with LS Retail objects available and uploaded to the server on the VM.

All participants should be local administrators of the machines they use.
